ERI TM 600 Tomograph
The ERI TM600 tomograph is an imaging device designed for an innovative imaging modality (ERI). It’s used for laboratory tests on various preclinical models. Its advantage is the transformation of generated images into 3D objects. The first challenge was to design a positioning arm system to precisely position the measured object in the centre of the measurement area. At subsequent stages, there was a need for a mobile control station, a device maintaining a constant temperature of the examined object and a device for cooling the tomograph.

Research and analysis
We have prepared a casing for the arm positioning system, protecting the components during the measurements in the resonator. The design included simple and quick assembly, improved operator’s comfort of work and visual consistency of the device. In the first stage, we conducted research that included an inventory of the device, understanding the principles of its operation and analyzing the operator's work with this device.

Project and prototypes
We prepared 3 concepts of enclosure design, taking into consideration different variants of arm structural solutions and the functionality, while maintaining the safety aspects of the operator. Within this process we created conceptual sketches, 3D models and cardboards mockup, PVC and laminate prototypes.

Control station
The next stage was to design a mobile control station for the TM600 device. The main concept was to develop a mobile desk equipped with a computer unit. During work, we took care to select the appropriate monitor screen to enable the use of all measurement programs, to place the power button in an easily accessible place and to provide the necessary ports to facilitate user access.

Temperature controller
The last designed device is a temperature controller that regulates the temperature of the measured object located inside the resonator of the TM600 tomograph. The design took into account design concepts such as simple temperature regulation, intuitive operation and signalling to the user about the operation status and possible failures.
